AICTE has approved the establishment of institution with the name and style: "Devineni Venkata Ramana & Dr. Hima Sekhar MIC College of Technology" in the year 2002 with three branches of engineering (ECE, CSE and EEE) and subsequently AICTE has given permission to commence the Biotechnology branch in B.Tech in the year 2003 and Mechanical branch in B.Tech, MCA & MBA course in the year 2004. The college is affiliated to JNTU, Kakinada.

Our Source of Inspriration Late Sri Devineni Venkata Ramana, former Education Minister, Govt. of AP, was a man of vision on the development of society. It was his dream to establish a technical institution wih global standards & quality. The college was established to fulfil his dream. Late Dr. Hima Sekhar, Ph.D at Pennsylvania University, was an engineering prodigy who excelled in the arena of technological innovations and developments. The college is promoted by "Devineni Ramana Pranitha Memorial Trust", Kanchikacherla. The promoters have rich experience in running various education institutes and industries. The college is fully supported by MIC Electronics Limited, Hyderabad. The motto of the college is to bridge the gap between the industry and the academics. The chairman of the college Dr. M.V. Ramana Rao is an agile entrepreneur with doctorate in Electronics. He is an Engineering teacher turned entrepreneur with global outlook. He established MIC Electronics Pvt. Ltd. to design and manufacture advanced Telecommunication systems for global market. The company, under the stewardship of M.V.Ramana Rao, bagged the best R&D unit by the DSIR, Govt. of India in 2002 and Dr. M.V.Ramana Rao received the Best Entrepreneur of the year award in 1990. |
